Alternative Education Program |
Mission Statement
The mission of Cherokee Community Learning Center's Alternative Education Program is to provide an alternative educational experience that will help our students achieve success in school, community, and the world of work.
Goals:
| * To meet the individual educational needs of students and to provide a positive learning environment. |
| * To reduce student dropout. |
| * To reduce the number of in grade retentions. |
| * To improve student attendance. |
| * To successfully reintegrate students into traditional school setting. |
| * To provide career orientation/opportunities. |
Admission:
Application for the alternative school will be made through the home school by the home school liaison.
Referral may also be made by the district hearing panel.
Parent or guardian may apply through the home school guidance office.
Eligibility:
Students in grades sixth through twelve may be eligible.
Students re-entering from the court system may be eligible.
Students assigned to boot camp in lieu of explusion.
