- Weekly parent communication folder from classroom teachers (behavior and academics –every Monday)

- School Handbook/Calendar for parents and students (outlining school policies and procedures)

- School web site (updated with calendar of events and school information)

School Volunteer Program

- Volunteer surveys sent out at the beginning of school year (includes checklist for parents who may wish to volunteer in the classroom, at home by making materials, etc. and parents who might want to talk to students about their careers or hobbies)

School Programs/Meetings

- Orientation session (scheduled between 3:00 and 6:00 to accommodate parents’ schedules)

- PTO meetings

- Scheduled Parent Conference Days to inform parent of test scores, MAP scores and other academic information pertaining to the student and school.

To inform parents about these and other important meetings, we send a letter from the office and place information about the upcoming events:

1) in the school newsletter,

2) on the school marquee,

3) on the school website

4) Use Alert Now to call each home

Conferences

Conferences should be arranged by sending a note to the teacher or the school office. Teachers are usually available from 2:40pm to 3:15pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

As a Corinth Elementary student I will:

  • Attend school every day and be on time.
  • Come prepared for school with the necessary school supplies.
  • Strive to do my best.
  • Behave in a way, which allows everyone to learn.
  • Demonstrate respect for self, property and people.
  • Follow school rules and be honest.
  • Assume responsibility for my academic and social behavior.
  • Work toward learning appropriate solutions to problems.
  • Complete assignments on time.

As a Corinth Elementary teacher I will:

  • Create a learning, supportive environment for children.
  • Treat every student with dignity and respect.
  • Identify expectations for students’ behavior and citizenship.
  • Communicate regularly to inform the home about student progress.

  • Assist students in developing strong work and study skills.
  • Maintain high expectations and academic standards for all children.
  • Encourage students to develop self-discipline and responsible behaviors.

As a Corinth Elementary Parent/Guardian I will:

  • See that my child is prepared for school by providing a good night’s sleep, proper food, fresh air, exercise and required school supplies.
  • Insure that my child is on time and misses school for emergencies only.
  • Provide a home environment that values education and encourages my child’s best performance in school.
  • Communicate relevant information with teacher and/or office staff.
  • See that my child completes homework and assist when appropriate.
  • Listen to my child share his/her learning experiences.
