  • Blacksburg Middle  Beta Club collected over $3000 for Meals on Wheels

  • Blacksburg Middle raised $2,198.16 for Relay for Life

  • Blacksburg Middle Student Council collected 1,067 canned goods for Iron City Ministries

  • Blacksburg Middle FCA collected 174 shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child

  • Ms. Terri Kite - $500 Higher Education Awareness Readiness Transition Award Recipient 

  • Taylor Covington - South Carolina State Division One Americanism Essay Contest Winner

  • Taylor Covington - Placed 1st in Martin Luther King, Jr. Art and Essay Contest

  • Ali Henderson - Performed in the Gaffney Youth Theatre's production of "Aladdin Jr."

  • Ali Henderson - American Talent Showcase/Model Jam America Gold Medalist

  • Brittany Guthrie - State Supt. of Education Writing Contest Winner

  • Brittany Guthrie - Cherokee Soil and Water Conservation Essay Contest Winner

  • L.J. Peak led the Forest City Heat to the Youth Basketball Organization of America (age 13 and under) National Championship in Orlando, FL. He was named the tournament's most valuable player after averaging 15 points a game.

  • Ewing Middle Volleyball Team had a 12-0 regular season in 2009-2010

  • Ewing Middle was the 2009 Big Lots "Lots2Give" Grand Prize winner of $11,068

  • Ewing Middle received a $2,300 Lowes Toolbox Grant

  • Ewing Middle is the first South Carolina Middle School to be named an "UnderArmour School"

  • Ewing Middle Fellowship of Christian Athletes Chapter presented a check for $408 to the local American Red Cross for Haiti relief efforts

  • Ewing Middle collected over $2000 in donations for Relay for Life

  • Ewing Middle 6th Graders correctly worked over a million math problems with the First In Math Computer Program

Blacksburg High

  • Darrell Walton - Placed 3rd at the State Track Meet (high jump category)

  • Blacksburg High received the Palmetto Silver Award

Gaffney High

  • Ms. Cindy Gallman - District Teacher of the Year

  • Coach Mark Huff - State 4-A Basketball Champion

  • Mr. Randall Byars - AFJROTC Distinguished Instructor Award Recipient

  • Ms. Marlene Davis - Cherokee Reading Council Administrator or the Year

  • Dr. Alan Ruppe - Received his Doctoral Degree from Gardner-Webb

  • Joe Craig - State 4-A Track Champion 100 and 200 meter

  • Josh Corry - Voted Mr. Basketball from the SC High School Sports Report

  • Gaffney High AFJROTC received the Distinguished Unit Award with Merit

  • Gaffney High Green Teens (Ms. Christina Cody) received the Limestone College Healthy Lifestyle Garden Grant
