Parents Right to Know
As a parent of an enrolled student at Draytonville Elementary School, you have the right to know the professional qualifications of the classroom teachers and instructional assistants who instruct your child.
Federal law allows you to ask for the following information about your child’s classroom teachers and requires the District to give you this information in a timely manner:
- Whether the teacher is certified to teach the subjects and/or grade levels the teacher is teaching,
- Whether the teacher’s certificate is a waiver or substandard certificate.
- The teacher’s academic major, graduate degrees, if any, and the teacher’s certification area.
If you would like to receive this information, please contact your principal.
**All of our teachers and support staff are highly qualified!**
Title One Parent Involvement Policy
Draytonville Elementary School
2011-2012
We believe parent involvement is a vital part of the educational arena. Parents are invited to observe and volunteer in classrooms. Parents are welcomed to attend school activities to support their child. All parents are invited to participate in our Parent Teacher Organization. Parents are encouraged to participate in the planning and review of the Title One Plan. A copy of this plan is available in the principal’s office for review by parents when requested.
Parents will be informed about scheduled parent meetings and activities by the school fliers, cable channel 15, marquee sign, and PATHS (a monthly newsletter) which will list events for parents at our school. Also our monthly newsletter will notify parents of all events. All information shall be given to parents in a language the parents can understand.
At our fall parent-teacher conference we shall provide assistants for parents to have a better understanding of the child’s academic achievement standards, state and local academic assessments, and how to monitor a child’s progress in order to improve the achievement of their child.
Draytonville Elementary shall provide materials and training to help parents to work with their children to improve their children’s achievement such as literacy training and using technology as appropriate to foster parental involvement.
Tracie Wilson, the Title I Parent Coordinator, shall provide support for parental involvement activities at the request of a parent.

If there is an occasion when no one is available, inquiries and concerns will be recorded and the parent will receive a response in three days. It is our goal at Alma Elementary to talk with parents in person, if that is not possible, a telephone call, written response, and/or a home visit will be made.
