Parent Involvement Policy
Limestone Central Elementary School
2009-2010
We believe parent involvement is a vital part of the educational arena. Parents are invited to observe and volunteer in classrooms. Parents are welcome to attend school activities to support their child. All parents are invited to participate in our Parent Teacher Organization and School Improvement Council. Parents are encouraged to participate in the planning and review of the Title One plan. A copy of this plan is available in the principal’s office for review by parents when requested.
Parents will be informed about scheduled parent meetings and activities through school fliers, cable channel 15, marquee sign, Alert Now telephone system, and our monthly school newsletter, which will list events for parents at our school. All information shall be given to parents in a language the parents can understand.
At our fall parent-teacher conference we shall provide assistance for parents to have a better understanding of their child’s academic achievement standards, state and local academic assessments, and how to monitor their child’s progress in order to improve the achievement of their child.
Limestone Central Elementary shall provide materials and training in literacy and technology to help parents work with their children to improve their achievement. Limestone Central shall participate in a character educational program to assist in the development of the whole child.
Mrs. LaKesha Logan, the Title I Parent Coordinator shall provide support for parental involvement activities at the request of a parent.
