AFTER-SCHOOL PICK-UP PROCEDURES:

Everyone picking up children in the afternoon from Luther Vaughan Elementary is required to follow the procedures listed below.

1. NO PARKING in undesignated areas.

2. If you plan on picking your child up early, please park in a designated parking space, not in the pick-up line.

3. ONLY one lane of traffic!  No pick-up in the drive-through lane.

4. Follow the arrows and lines marked on the driveway.

5. Pull down to the end of the loading ramp at all times so 3 cars can be loaded at once.

6. If your child is not out of the building, you may have to circle around and get back in line.

7. Please Be Patient!  Your child's safety is our utmost concern!

                          Bus Safety

Before Getting on the Bus:

• Leave home on time so there is no rushing to the bus stop.

• Have all materials inside your backpack so nothing gets dropped under the bus or gets caught on the hand rails.

• Stand back at least 10 feet from the road while waiting on the bus

• Escort young children to and from the bus stop.

Getting On/Off the Bus:

• Look both ways for moving traffic before walking to the bus.

• Always walk.

• Use the handrail.

• If you drop something, tell the bus driver and wait until he/she instructs you to go get it.

• Wait until the driver signals you to get on/off the bus.

• Never approach a moving bus.

While on the Bus:

• Stay in your seat and face forward at all times.

• Remain quiet.

• Follow the bus driver's instructions.

• Keep your materials inside your backpack.

• Keep the aisle clear of backpacks and coats.

• Keep your hands/objects to yourself.

Directions to Luther L. Vaughan Elementary School: (I-85 North) Take Exit 95 at Mr. Waffle and make an immediate right onto the Frontage Road.  Turn left on the second paved road (Vaughan Road) beside the National Guard Armory.  The school's driveway is the next road on the right.  (I-85 South) Take Exit 95.  Turn left across the bridge, right onto SC 18, right onto Hampshire Dr. (Frontage Road), left onto Allison Drive, and a slight right onto Vaughan Road.  The school's driveway is the next left.

School Colors:  Blue and Gold

School Hours:  8:00 a.m. - 2:25 p.m.   

Car & bus riders are dismissed at 2:25 p.m.
